Two Thumbs Up: Chick-Fil-a Chargrilled & Fruit Salad
I had the Chick-Fil-a Chargrilled & Fruit Salad yesterday. It comes with a packet of granola, a packet of sunflower seeds, and has its own Reduced-Fat Berry Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. It was heavenly.
Southern Cooking (uh, I mean ‘Suth-ern Cuu-kin’)
Sometimes I just miss Southern cooking. Texas’ version of southern cooking is different than what I grew up with in Birmingham, AL.
I pulled out my recipe box recently, looking longingly at my southern-style recipes. I’m on a diet and can’t eat most of them. But that doesn’t mean I can’t share them with you! You’re welcome. Read the rest of this entry »
Random stuff
Sorry I’ve been blogging about nothing but Gabriel and his issues lately. I’m actually getting a lot of web hits on these issues, and I feel good about potentially helping people out. I’ve considered launching a separate blog for all of that, but I’m not sure yet.
That time again
Well, thanksgiving was almost a week ago now and my fridge is starting to smell like a trash can. I guess it’s time to clean out the remains of the leftovers.
I am listening to a great assortment of Christmas music right now, thanks to my rad bro-in-law Glen. I mean seriously, I could listen to iTunes from now ’till Christmas and not listen to the same song twice. Some of my favorites are the old Chrismas songs (think Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby …) on Ultra-Lounge: Christmas Cocktails and Pier 1 Holiday Classics and Amy Grant’s Christmas albums, including Home for Christmas and A Christmas to Remember.
Jello Pops
I did a double-take recently in the store when I saw “Jello” on a box in the popsicle section. Alas, it wasn’t my much-missed (and to my knowledge, no longer made) Jello Gelatin Pops, it was only Jello Pudding Pops. Not that Jello Pudding Pops are bad by any stretch, but Jello Gelatin Pops are one of my favorite things, ever.
True, you can make your own, but it’s just not the same.
